Anya Dalal
Co-Founder and Chair, CAYC
Chair, Hillsborough Youth Commission
Anya is a junior at Castilleja School in Palo Alto. She is passionate about connecting teens in her community, providing mental health support, and enhancing environmental sustainability. She also hopes to increase voter registration for teens and raise awareness about the safety of e-bikes and alcohol use. She is excited to help towns in California launch youth commissions to amplify youth voice and representation. In her free time, she enjoys playing soccer and spending time with her dog.

Harper Fortgang

Vice Chair of Housing, Recreation, & Transit Committee, San Francisco Youth Commission
Harper is a senior at The Nueva School and believes strongly in the power of youth advocacy and is passionate about environmental and youth civic engagement initiatives. Harper also leads Project Super Plants, a youth-driven climate advocacy organization and helped launch San Francisco’s public EV charging pilot study. Through the CAYC, she is excited to work together on State-level initiatives to drive initiatives that benefit youth.

Charlie Zeitlin

Palo Alto Youth Council
Charlie is a 10th grader at Crystal Springs Uplands School. In addition, he hosts the “Straight To It” podcast, where he has interviewed more than 73 leaders in business, entertainment, and sports. Charlie is also a TEDx organizer and hosted TEDx Baylands Park Youth in April 2024. In his free time, Charlie enjoys reading, playing tennis, and watching Formula 1 races, all while spending time with his two dogs, Bodhi and Sadie.

Eleanor Hardy
Youth Commission Establishment Subcommittee Chair, CAYC
Eleanor is a Hillsborough resident and a senior at Choate Rosemary Hall in Wallingford, CT. She is passionate about youth mental health, criminal justice reform, and social justice initiatives, with a focus on LGBTQ+ rights and universal access to reproductive care. Through the CAYC, she hopes to amplify the impact of youth commissions throughout California by leveraging legislation and policy change. In her free time, she enjoys embarking on backpacking trips with her roommate and using watercolor to capture the views of their campsites.

Rishi Gupta
Communications Subcommitttee Chair, CAYC
Rishi is a senior at Basis Independent Fremont. He is passionate about social equality, diversity, understanding bias, and the implications of AI in education. He is deeply committed to education for all and tutors children from around the world. He is also an Eagle Scout who actively participates in community service and volunteering. By joining CAYC, he hopes to connect with teenagers across the Bay Area to understand and solve issues impacting them.

Revant Daddoo
Finance Subcommittee Co-Chair, CAYC
San Mateo County Youth Commission
Revant is a sophomore at Crystal Springs Uplands School. He is passionate about environmental sustainability action, civic engagement, and science. On the San Mateo County Youth Commission, he advocates for environmental justice in San Mateo. As part of the Youth Climate Ambassadors program, he developed a Community Impact Project aimed at increasing the use of induction stoves in Redwood City. Revant is also active in the arts, performing in musical theater, and in various athletic activities. He strives to combine creativity, leadership, and scientific curiosity to make a positive impact in his community.

Chiara Luey

Chiara is a senior at Crystal Springs Uplands School. At HYC, she leads local climate action projects and community engagement. She is also the founder of Energizing Youth, an initiative that brings clean energy education to K–6 students in under-resourced areas, and has partnered with Peninsula Clean Energy and Silicon Valley Youth Climate Action to amplify youth voices in climate policy.

Nyssa is currently a junior at The Harker School. On the CAYC, she also serves on the Legislative and YC Establishment subcommittees. She is passionate about environmental science and sustainability. Through the CAYC, she hopes to make youth commissions throughout California more impactful and prevalent.

Vivaan Kuruganti

Vivaan is a freshman at Crystal Springs Uplands School. He is passionate about advocating for climate policy and literacy. Through his work, he aims to empower more youth in California to gain a deeper understanding of environmental issues and take part in meaningful climate action. He is eager to strengthen the youth voice in policymaking, making sure students feel confident participating in civic conversations about sustainability.

Alexa is a junior at San Mateo High School. She is passionate about connecting students with resources to promote equity and ensure all students have the support they need. She also focuses on addressing food insecurity and building stronger connections within her communities. She also loves media and video production!

Zimeng is currently a senior at Irvington High School in Fremont. She is dedicated to increasing youth involvement in their communities and helping youth receive the resources and support they need to pursue their interests. Through CAYC, she hopes to expand educational and enrichment opportunities for youth.

Alieen Mejia

Aileen is 17, is currently doing Middle College in Skyline College, and is in 11th grade. She lives in South City San Francisco, and moved here not so long ago. She’s considering law school (or vet school), so she wants to get involved and help out in any way to understand the depths and work it takes.

Alina Robinson

Alina is a sophomore at Carlmont High School and has participated in Speech and Debate for three years. She is a co-founder of her high school’s Speech and Debate Team, which empowers high school students to use their voices to advocate for pressing societal issues. Additionally, she assists children around the world in developing their public speaking skills through tutoring. By joining CAYC, she hopes to break down structural barriers for marginalized communities and empower youth to speak up.

Talia is a 10th grader at Carlmont High School in Belmont who was inspired to join CAYC after the inaugural in-person April conference. She is excited to work in the legislative subcommittee to lobby local representatives to pass environmental legislation.

Isabella is a sophomore at Menlo School. She is passionate about civic engagement, with a focus on policy, education, and reform around youth incarceration. Through the CAYC, she hopes to shape policies that support youth and equity in California. In her free time, she enjoys playing tennis, running, and reading books.
